Dear Camtasia-users and TechSmith-Team,

in the thread (Delete idling time in Camtasia)

this problem has already been discussed - but the latest update to this discussion was five years ago, so I wil try a new attempt:

I would
very much appreciate a feature in Camtasia Studio that automatically detects parts where „nothing real happens on the screen“and marks them for shortening/deletion or does so automatically.

Of course one can pause and resume a recording during presentation, but sometimes you forget to do so and also I don’t want to risk to forget pressing the resume shortcut and lose information.

It also would be nice to mark regions on the screen (e. g. the Windows task bar with the clock, the title part of a window etc.) that should be ignored when deciding if the screen is “idle”, so changes in these regions should not be taken into consideration.

The feature should work with the following options within a marked sequence or the whole raw video:

Mark idle parts of the video (no change for more than [ 20 ] seconds)

[ x ] Ignore cursor

[ x ] Ignore mouse pointer

[ x ] Ignore marked special regions

[ x ] Automatically shorten idle parts to [ 10 ] seconds

A feature like this to my opinion would save tons of time for lots of users.

Kind regards,
