Recorded some footage on my Canon 80D dslr.  imported the footage into Camtasia 19.  Applied 5% saturation to clip.  Rendered at 100% quality at 1920X1080, same as timeline settings.

The rendered footage has reduced sharpness and the colors and contrast are off.

First shot is on Camtasia 9 comparing the preview window and the rendered footage in VLC player.

timeline set to 1080 and rendered in 1080

viewed in google chrome browser,

installed camtasia 2019 - same thing.  This time I did not apply any color adjustment.  Viewed in vlc,

Now in MPC-hd

here's more.

comparison with other NLE's.  Preview at full quality (on right), rendered to 1080p @ 30Mbps (same as source.  I might add these exports are about half the size of what Camtasia exports at 100%.

These comparisons, although I can see differences, seem much closer than Camtasia.  I'm kind of stumped.

Pinnacle studio,

Adobe Premier Pro,

Have you tried switching Color Mode outputs between NTSC & HDTV?
A 60%
High Profile
Should yield pretty good results in most cases. NTSC is the default setting and works well for me. Some media players can prefer HDTV.

Let us know it this helps.

Thanks Joe.  I did try setting the high and 4.1 level (to match raw footage) and that didn't make much of a difference, but the HDTV did!  Switching from NTSC to HDTV made it look much closer to the original,  Thank you!
