Repair Corrupt trec file after computer crash

Been recording using Camtasia Recorder. Windows crashed.

After restart, Camtasia Recorder recovers file to 98/99 % then crashes.

Neither the original file in %temp%/CamRec0 nor the Recovered trec files open properly in Camtasia Studio. Files are about 1GB (~30 minutes?)

Instead I get "Cannot load file" ...  "It is either an unsupported media type or required codecs are not found.". Obviously it's just the file is corrupt.

How can I repair the corrupt file? Even if I lose 70% of the recording, recovering 30% is better than nothing.

I tried opening the both trec (original and recovered) using 7zip and VLC, but neither can open the files. Definitely corrupted.

Please help.

Kelly beat me to it and I was going to suggest the same thing as TechSmith Support is more equipped to help with something like this issue. Let us know if they could help and what they had to say for others who might have the same problem.

Thanks for posting and have a great day/night.

hey i had the same problem.
Now i finally got a solution. Go into Camtasia Studio and load the corrupt camrec file. Right click on the file in the upper section. Now press "express camrec contents", choose a direcotry. An Avi File will be genrated. After completed it fortunately works for me now =) The file isnt corrupt anymore. It took about 3 hours of experementing for me, but i hope it will help anybody here.
