Can I replace the beginning portion of just the video track in Camtasia Studio? I have video and audio, but I want to replace the beginning of the video with a PowerPoint slide.

Hello,
I think the best way to accomplish this would be to:
1. Unlink the video and the audio.
2. Lock the audio track.
3. Select and cut the the piece of video you do not want.
4. Import the slide from PowerPoint.
5. Drag to timeline.

Let us know if you need more help!

Thanks, Kelly. I'll try it. Just starting out with Camtasia Studio; it's a slick piece of work.

Hello,
I would like to update this thread with some new information. We have just released Camtasia Studio 8, which we have redesigned from the ground up for better performance and stability. In our new version we have made what you are trying to do much easier than before.

Our new multi-track timeline now supports selection based splits, meaning to split only one video track all you have to do is selected it, put the playhead over the point you want to split, and split. It’s that easy now to delete content out of your video. The new timeline gives you more freedom to edit your videos with ease.

There is also a ton of other new stuff in Camtasia Studio 8 that you can learn more about here, as well as download a free, fully-functional 30 day trial: http://www.techsmith.com/camtasia-wha...

Thank you again for your feedback!

In Camtasia Studio, I want to delete a little bit of video, but don't want to delete the audio under it. How do I cut video without cutting audio.? (yes, neophyte question).

Cutting Video but leaving audio.....

separate video from audio [right click option in CS8]; lock audio track; cut video out

I have separated the audio and video, but when I isolate the part of the video I want to clip/cut, the audio gets cut too. I don't see any way to lock the audio as mentioned above.
