If you see any spam at feedback.techsmith.com paste a link to it here so we can review and remove.

The software powering this support site has anti-spam mechanisms and TechSmith staff also will delete spam, however we do miss things occasionally. Because there is no report spam functionality within this service, we've successfully used posts like this one where the community can paste links to report spam.

When the length of this thread starts to become unruly a new post like this will be created.

Glenn  - Wouldn't in be easier to create an email address "spam@techsmith.com" and we could just forward the junk to you without skipping a beat?

That's a good idea, but without getting into the details it'd be too big of a process change for how we interact with this forum on our side of things. I know there is some unhappiness with this platform, and there are some changes in the works for which signs are pointing to 2020. I really hate giving out dates because no plan survives first contact with the enemy, but I like you all so I'm dropping this tidbit for you. :)

Glenn --
Why must spam posts interact with this forum? Reporting spam posts to this forum is almost as bad as the spam, why do I need an email from TS telling me Joe reported a  suspected spam?

Please rethink "spam@techsmith.com" Nobody needs to see what's reported. Certainly, creating a new email address should be possible and should not involve this forum.

Just curious. Does the Unfollow button work to suppress the email messages?

Who? Stern Lee (which sounds like a real name, not.: https://feedback.techsmith.com/techsmith/people/stern_lee
Where? This post which had been dormant for over a year prior to his post: https://feedback.techsmith.com/techsmith/topics/how_to_export_audio_file_mp3_from_an_video_using_cam...

The only post that the alleged "Stern Lee" has made has a very suspicious looking link inside it which points to a tool (or possibly virus) to do the very thing that he is supposedly asking about.

Areslane Arsoy appears to be a 100% fraud/spammer from my perspective.

Asks questions yesterday then posts this.

That's my opinion also. We had one before (a few months back) which made spam posts in normal threads. I reported them in the old spam thread, and suddenly they were in that thread upvoting and replying to my posts with canned spam responses just as the one below this post seems to be. It seems plausible, but when you look at the post in more detail it's really just gibberish.

Let's break down that post.

He / she / it has been "coming up on a lot of spam accounts / advertising". Really? Where? Here?

" Is there another way to report them than just reporting their posts?" What does he/she/it mean "another", given that they have not, in fact, reported any and that the spam has been in their own posts.

I think that the account should be killed off and be done with it.

Recently i’ve been coming up on a lot of spam accounts/advertising accounts that try to advertise for free. Is there another way to report them than just reporting their posts?

This must be SPAM

Camtasia isn't a telephone, I don't think this is a search for ring tones for Camtasia.

Who? Ashish
Where? https://feedback.techsmith.com/techsmith/topics/allow-snagit-library-to-be-put-on-a-network-drive?to...
"Hey I found nicest Tech News Blog: You should check for the video tutorial" (followed by a link)
How kind of him to let us know. Because that's really relevant to allowing Snagit to use network storage...
