I'd like to report a problem with Camtasia Studio. If you enter fullscreen preview/edit mode (fullscreen button next to all of the other tools like crop, the dimensions, etc) with certain tools on, ESC key will not close it/bring it back to Camtasia Studio. You'll be stuck in full screen mode and you have to kill Camtasia in Task Manager, losing some work. I don't know the exact causes of this problem but edit and do a lot of stuff in fullscreen and you'll eventually come across this. Please fix it!

using CS8?

I can not reproduce this; can you be more specific [like what certain tools on?]

I have noted that when trying to exit full screen mode, the esc key may need to me held down, not just clicked

I'm sure that there are more ways, but here's what I figured out: Open a video in Camtasia, drag to timeline. Make sure that the progress bar (that bar you move to change position/duration of video in the preview and to make edits) is on the video. Next, turn on pan mode. Now go to fullscreen and drag and ZOOM (definitely zoom the video) the video around a in it. The usual ESC key doesn't work any more, but the ALT ENTER combination that the person below you suggested does. If someone didn't know the ALT ENTER combination, they'd lose tons of valuable work. Please fix it. It probably isn't a glitch, but it's annoying.

Andy,

Have you tried the key combination ALT ENTER ?!?

ALT ENTER serves both to enter and to exit fullscreen mode

That's it. It exits when I press that key permutation. However, esc usually exits fullscreen and I don't understand why it doesn't work in the case that the fullscreen preview won't exit. The ALT ENTER permutation exit association would be really confusing for people who instinctively pressed the ESC key, found it to work, then couldn't close fullscreen preview because they thought that ESC was the only key.

Thanks for bringing this behavior up, Andy. I don't know if it is by design but I will have the product team check it out. Thanks!
