It would be great if I had better control over zooming. 25% increments larger or smaller would be great. 10% would be terrific!

Jason, sorry for the delay. Are you referring to the version of Snagit for Windows or Mac. Thanks for the feedback. I can check into this.

I suggest that most people zoom with their mouse wheel - its just that the zoom increments are too large and are not readily adjustible

Yes!
Definitely support this idea!
My, a kind of weird workaround is to resize the source first (e.g. user define resize Internet Explorer) befóre capturing.
Snagit shd offer steps of 10% ánd a user-defined size, OR have an option built in where users can define the steps themselves, 5,10,15% and so on. Then a [+] or [-] magnifier shd resize the capture using the 'set' percentages.

To Mike Curtis:
Any feedback on this yet, Mike? Fine zooming capability and adjustment is just such a basic main function for graphics software users, that it is almost unbelievevable that Snagit still continues on with the very primitive zooming incremental steps that it has now.
Please let us all know what is up right now .

Thank you from a long time loyal user.

Hi Ken, it's been some time since we released a new version of Snagit, but I have high confidence that you will be seeing finer zoom control in the next release. This feedback was taken to heart and I think people will be pleased.

Thanks for stopping by and checking in!

Great news Jason! We have just released the new version of Snagit that has improved zooming in the Snagit Editor. Now you can zoom in 5% increments up to 100%. From 100% up to 200% we have fixed zooms of 110, 125, 150 and 125. From 200% up to a 1000% the zoom jumps by a 100. Zoom tops off with 1500% and 2000% being the max.

If you would like more information about Snagit 11 please visit: http://www.techsmith.com/snagit.html

Please keep the feedback coming ;)

What about zooming for video capture? I've recently stumbled upon other screen video capture software comparable to Snagit, and they have a great zoom feature (using a hot key) and the price is only $19.95. I enjoyed my Trial version, but sure would like to see Snagit have an option to zoom in video capture.

I agree with Steven. Where is the Snagit video zoom capability? This has become a really important feature even for a basic video capture.

Mike Curtis, thank you for your efforts.

I read the Tech Support response to user, Jason Bean, about Version Rev. 11 of Snagit Editor providing mouse scroll zoom.

However, for my particular tasks, mouse-scroll zoom would be helpful sometimes, but also having a feature that allows the user to custom-set the default from 100% default *UP* or *DOWN* as needed. My design department gets images of various types from vendors so we need some versatility.

Actually, the custom setting I would use most often would be a custom setting of 65% *ZOOM DOWN* that does not change even if the user closes and reopens the Snagit Editor program, but the user can, at any time, choose a different standard or custom default.

[We use Windows 7 Enterprise, Service Pak 1, 64-bit Operating System]
