Requirements for Capturing Text

What determines whether SnagIt can capture text? Sometimes it works, sometimes not (error says copy it to clipboard if you can) and I cannot detect a pattern.

What version of Snagit are you using?

Snagit 10.0 captures text more reliably than previous versions.

Snagit is most reliable when capturing text if it has been printed onto the screen by Windows itself. If the text is purely graphical, we cannot capture it.
