Resize Recent Capture Tray

Upgraded from v11 to v13 and yet again disappointed that the recent captures tray is a mess. In v11 if I set the thumbnail size to small I could see rows of captures. Actually, I think you could resize the tray (v11 no longer works)?

Now you have this goofy scroll which is a pain if going between many recent captures. And like others, still can't drag-and-drop to change the order thumbnails?

C'mon, this is all simple UI stuff! Actually feel to some degree this should have been a free upgrade as it didn't add any WOW features coming from two versions prior.

Same URGENT! problem for me, please bring back the recent capture view from release 11 or at least change:

1. the prehistoric scroll, this is unworkable when working with lots of captures in one go

2. reduce the amount of grey space around small captures

3. Allow more than 15 recent captures in the recent section

I depend on these recent captures to stay in my library.  The maximum recent history file of 15 is NOT acceptable.  I also don't like that you can't go back and look at previous days to find a capture.  Don't make me work harder.

Same. I recently upgraded to V13 and was dismayed to discover that I can now see only 15 recent captures. This doesn't make sense to me!

I don't want to have to switch between the Editor and the Library -- I use them both at the same time. In fact, I rarely even open anything other than the Editor.

I would like to second this. V12 allowed me to resize the pane and see all my recent captures not limited to just a few small handfuls. When I create technical documents I tend to snag screenshots of the whole process, so having to call them by switching back and forth from the editor and library view one at a time is a bit of a UI disappointment. V13 made the change, and it's still there in 2018.

While I will admit I like the sleek look of the interface and the ability to hide and show the recent captures pane so quickly, I'd at least like the option to switch back to the more robust options of V12's version. I love Snag-It, but I really do feel this change was a step in the wrong direction.

I would also like to second this as well.  Why do software companies(TechSmith is like so many others) believe that taking away a feature that their customer base has used for years and have come to rely upon is the right thing to do? It makes absolutely no sense especially when the users have to work harder to accomplish the same task.  LEAVE THE STUFF WE USE ALONE!! BRING BACK V12's IMPLEMENTATION OF THIS FEATURE.

I am in the same boat, I depend on the recent captures and use them often in a day, and many more than 15, and having to go back and forth to the library is painful as its so slow to load, and then you have to open the image in the editor to then copy and paste it out. Its clunky and really needs work.
Increase the max recent list from 15 to be user settable at least, will go a long way to helping.

Hi all

This thread is a bit long in the tooth and many different versions of SnagIt have been discussed. I'm curious about those of you using 2020. I note that with 2020 I'm able to have about 24 images in my Recents tray. (I just counted them)

How many are visible without the stupid left/right scroll?
Need multiple lines and up/down scroll in the Recents.

I actually count 24 images on my 2020.0.2, but its still not enough. I can fit 21 along the bottom without scrolling, but I have a large 34 inch monitor 3480x1440 resolution. It changes how many you can see depending how big the window is.
24 is not enough though, I take hundreds a day, and going back to the library each time is horribly painful. If the library would open by default to ones taken in the last week, then I am sure it would be faster, but it goes back to a collection that was taken in 2019 and it takes ages to open, and you cant just copy from the library to clipboard, you have to open the image so it goes back to the editor, to then copy from there. Such a pain. Just opened the library now and it took 87 seconds to load so I could even click on anything. Gaaa

The Library can set to show just last weeks captures.
Recent captures cover a month.
The weekly folders speak for themselves.

Select what works best for you.
