Resize Steps - Add to Quick Styles

I can't tell you how many times I've had to re-size the auto-numbered circles because they are way too large by default. I want to be able to change the size of a step shape and then add that styling to the Quick Styles menu for quick use. This would save me a looot of time re-sizing the steps. Please add shape size to the Quick Styles memory / properties so I can avoid having to re-size steps ever again!

If you resize the first one, do not the subsequent numbers follow with that size? That is the way it is working here, although I have not tried it across several documents nor played with any other scenarios

Yes - it will remember the size of each subsequent shape on the existing snag/canvas I am working on; however, that is NOT what I am asking for.

I want SnagIt to remember the size I used (last time) on another screenshot so I don't have to perform the 'initial' resize step every time I work on a new image (because I don't like how large the default size is)

The only way I know of to have SnagIt remember this kind of styling is using Quick Style properties, but this 'size' property doesn't exist for 'step' shapes.

Make sense?

No, it doesn't. Has this issue been resolved?

No. The ability to save the size of a 'number shape' as an attribute of the number Quick Styles is still missing in the latest 2018 version of SnagIt.

Keep resizing your numbered steps manually, my friends... :-(

Definitely makes sense. I'm going to add this to our list to consider for the next several releases. We've heard that both this and turning on and off shadow on stamps can be really annoying. We fixed this for stamps. Those are the type of things that we could be remembering between image captures and not require you to manually change every time.

Version 12 used to have the ability to take your modified number step and "add to quick styles".  This was somehow removed in ver. 13.

I still see that ability in my 2018 release.

Just realized I don't have the 2018 version.  Just the Nov 2017 of v. 13.1.5.
Looks like it wants me to purchase an update.

But does that Quick Style store the saved SIZE of the step if you’ve resized it to be smaller? :-D

I don't believe so. I think all it stores is attributes such as color, fill, shape, and shadow.

FWIW... I wished to have smaller numbered 'red numbers' as well.

see: "Add resized stamps as a new style within SnagIt v13 "
at:  https://feedback.techsmith.com/techsmith/topics/add-resized-stamps-as-a-new-style-within-snagit-v13

I went on the below way:

SnagIt v11.3

01 Open SnagItEditor
02 Select: File->Convert Images
03 In Selecting Files: click 'Add Files'
04 Go to and select folder 'Red Numbers'
05 Select all files and click on 'Open'
06 Back in Selecting Files: click 'Next'
07 In Conversion Files (Step 2 of 4): select 'Modify'
08 Select Image Scaling->Resize Image
09 In the Resize Image window: select Scale by percentage (selected by default)
10 Set percentage, for instance to 20/20 (Width/Height)
11 Click on 'OK'
12 Back in the Conversion Files (Step 2 of 4): click on 'Next'
13 In the Output Options (step 3 of 4), output directory select (or create) a folder (e.g. MyStamps)
14 In the Browse for folder window, click 'OK'
15 Back in the the Output Options (step 3 of 4): click on 'Next'
14 In the Batch Conversion Wizard Ready (Step 4 of 4): click on 'Finish'
15 In SnagItEditor -> Stamps select the newly created folder (e.g. MyStamps)

So, the small 'Red Numbers' are stored in a separate folder 'MyStemps'

Below the original vs 'my' reduced size versions. I never use the giant default numbers.

Again, not sure if it'll help you.

Has there been any progress on this being added to a new release? It is currently frustrating when you are trying to get a consistent look across all images. I would prefer to have two choices. One it remembers my last setting across images and sessions. i.e. when I restart the editor. The second option would be to add the step to a quick style so it can be accessed in the future.

I would like to add my voice to this. Seems like I didn't used to have a problem but on the Mac version of Snagit 4.1.4 (78106) the initial step is so tiny it looks like a pin prick. I have to constantly resize it and then add the rest. But next canvas I have to do it all over again.
