Resize Stamps

I submitted it to Support team who mentioned to me to post this idea into this website.

When selecting the Stamps, I can only resize it by dragging the white handles to change the height and width.
Is there a way to do it by specifying the (%) reduction using a Right click option menu. I mean just like we resize a picture, where I choose to resize it to 50%, 60% etc...
On another thing, In order to resize the Stamps, I can only do it one by one. If I have more than one Stamp on my capture, how could I resize them all in one go?

Thanks Rogerio!

We'll make sure to consider your request as we continue to make stamps better. It seems like a natural extension to this thread about rotating stamps too. http://feedback.techsmith.com/techsmi...

Just downloaded Snagit 11 and sad to see that this hasn't been implemented. I use stamps a fair bit in when creating software tutorials as I step people through the actions on screen. This would be brilliant if this could happen as it would make the final results more professional.

It ́s been 1 year since I submitted the idea. Unfortunately it did not fly as an enhancement within this new release.
Will it ever be implemented?

Hello,
While we were able to get many new and updated stamps in Snagit, we weren't able to take them to the next level in terms of making them vector-based and therefore able to do more powerful things with them like you proposed.

We do still have interest in improving the stamp functionality further, and I hope I can have better news for you in the future. Thanks for following up on this thread and keeping the pressure on us.

Please allow me to second Rogerio's feature request. I use the numbered stamps and would like to be able to resize them all to the same size. Today, you cannot multi-select and resize. It takes a lot of time to try to manually resize multiple stamps to the same smaller dimensions (by eye!). Either a percent or values of H & V would be most helpful.

I agree it's a pretty major omission. My solution so far has been:

1. Navigate to the Snaggit folder holding the stamps. e.g.
C:\Users\DAVE\Documents\Snagit Stamps\Black Numbers

2. Create another folder in the parent folder e.g.
C:\Users\DAVE\Documents\Snagit Stamps\Black Numbers Small

3. Use the free (for home use) batchconverter tool: Faststone Photo Resizer ( http://www.faststone.org/FSResizerDet...) to convert the images to a new size and store them in the new folder

4. The stamps will now appear under the new folder name (e.g. "Black numbers Small") in Snaggit.

You'll usually get the best results if the new image size is half or quarter of the original image size.

I initially tried to resize the images in the "Black Numbers" folder by selecting them all then right clicking and choosing Snaggit->Batch Convert Images, but unfortunately Snaggit did a bad job of preserving image quality on resize (cut part of the images off).

vector stamps for resizing +1 from me. Will help not only with screenshots for tutorials but also with using snagit as a more standalone infographic-making tool.

David:

I like your suggestion about resizing. When I use Faststone and resize the pngs into a new folder, the new stamps don't show up in SnagIt Editor. In fact the only way that Windows Explorer will display the files is if I select Compatibility mode. I compared the properties of the files but don't see any obvious differences.

Any suggestions?

Thanks, David

Do you ave any update on this functionality to resize the stamps? From the comments above, all of us are in favor of this enhancement.

Thanks,

I could really use the resizing all functionality too. Many times the size of the stamps cover up details I need to show.

What version of SnagIt are you using? I'm on version 12.4.1 and I'm not sure what actual version made it happen, but I can easily resize any stamps I drop into a capture.

Cheers... Rick :)
