Resizing to the Facebook Video Cover Size for FB Pages of 820x312

I'm having trouble resizing a standard youtube video size of 1280 x 720 down to the Facebook Cover Video size of 820 x 312. It's a ridiculous size of course, but Camtasia 9.1 will only resize partially leaving blank spaces on either side of the video.  I can't get the video to adjust to fit the canvas size correctly.  Is there some kind of pixel ratio setting somewhere?

Hi there

I would first adjust the canvas size to 820x312. Then plop the video on that and size or crop as needed.

Cheers... Rick :)

Hello, that's exactly what I'm doing and it's not adjusting properly. It reduces the size of the video to fit inside the canvas, but it won't then adjust to fit. The fb cover video size is really an odd size.....

Likely you will need to adjust the video to be larger so parts of it overlap the canvas. The crop tool may help with that.

I've tried that too.  The video is a business commercial with call to action slides and text throughout. It needs to fit properly in those dimensions of 820x312. I don't see why there isn't a setting to automatically resize to fit the required dimensions. Cropping won't do in this case.  It's not adjusting the video size to fit in the canvas size - the width size especially leaving blank spaces on either side.

I'm guessing you are just wanting to stretch the video to fill?

Won't that distort it horribly?

If you don't have crop selected, you can press and hold the Shift key as you drag the edges to stretch it.

Cheers... Rick :)
