Resizing an image or icon down without pixelation/bluriness

Hi there, I'm trying to figure out how to size down images/icons in SnagIt without getting a pixelated, blurry result. In Photoshop, I believe the way around this is to convert the image to a Smart Object. I am not sure if there's a similar function with SnagIt. Please advise.
Thanks!

Hello Laura,

Scaling down an image can reduce the quality. It's especially noticeable if there is text in the capture. We try to avoid scaling an image when the best quality is desired. Some ways I've done this is to compile multiple images into one, where the background provides context, but the part I am emphasizing "pops out" of the background. You can also use the Cut Out tool in the Image tab to quickly remove unnecessary parts, while providing a lot of context.

If you want to share a sample of what you're trying to do I could take a look and see if I can provide an acceptable option for you.

Sincerely,
Mike Curtis

Hi, can I revive this topic please as I'm having the same trouble?

I need to take screenshots of an installation process then import them into a Word doc. The original images are too big so I need to downsize them. If I do this in the SnagIt editor, the result is really blurry text on the button labels. If I do it in Word, the result is better but still blurry.

This must be a really common issue - what is the best way to solve it?
