Hi All,

I have a quick and very imp question:
Due to power failure, my video recording was interrupted. I somehow took a backup from Advanced--> Backup / Restore Automatically Stored Files...
Now I have a *.snagarchive file with me. But, I am unable to restore it.
Please help me in getting this file restored and in an *.mp4 format.

It is extremely imp for me to get this fixed asap !!! Any help would be highly appreciated !!!

Hi Vishal,

I'm not sure if creating the backup as you did is exactly what you want, but here's more information on that topic: https://support.techsmith.com/entries/22897676-Snagit-I-need-to-move-my-unsaved-captures-to-another-...

Probably your best bet at this point is to contact our tech support and see if there's anything that can be done: https://support.techsmith.com/anonymous_requests/new

Good luck,

Conan.

Thanks Conan !

I had already followed all the steps mentioned in the article forwarded by you.
It completes the backup and creates a *.snagarchive file. This implies that the backup completed successfully.

Now, I follow all the restore steps and they also complete successfully after which Snagit restarts. But, I am not able to locate the restored file. Not sure which location it is getting restored. I already checked the Library folder, Temp and Datastore locations.

Any help would be highly appreciated !!!

Also, 1 more quick question:
I have already submitted a request yesterday...Do you know within how much time will I receive a response from the Techsmith Support Team ?

The reason I thought the backup/restore process might not be what you're looking for is that it backs up what is already in the library. If you had a recording fail, then it never made it to your library in Snagit.

If you did submit a support request through that form I linked to, then you should hear from them soon. I'm pretty sure they try to get to each one within a day but the actual time depends a lot on how many people are contacting them, so it could be longer.
