Retina export size

I could be missing something, I'm fairly new to Snagit, but using the latest version. (2019)

I just did ~40 screen captures, now looking to export them all as .jpgs. I can batch export them, but they are at a reduced size. Ok, I'm using a Retina screen, so I can export 1 image and choose to export at Retina resolution, but that option isn't available for multiple/ batch export...

This alone is mind boggling to me... Where are the export settings, the resolution settings when exporting multiple images...  Where?

Ok, so I'll resize all of the images and export them...  Select multiple images, access the resolution and change it...  but it only changes the displayed image, not the selected images... What?

Do I have to export or change each image singularly? I can't imagine this is possibly the case, please show me where I'm missing something...   How do I edit multiple images and how do I change the settings when exporting multiple images?

I went into the settings and already un-checked 'Scale down retina images when sharing'...  This made no difference in my exports.

I'm pretty confused at this point...

Hi,

So sorry about this! This appears to be a bug, the export should respect the scale down retina setting. We'll look into fixing this, but for now the easiest way is to drag and drop from the tray to the Finder. This can be done with multiple images at a time.

Thanks Luke, I'm not at my computer today where I have these captures, but I will try this tomorrow.

So are you also confirming that I can't export multiple images with custom options? I understand that images may be different sizes and aspect ratios, but still this seems odd to not have any customization.

Same for editing multiple images. I can't select and edit multiple images all at once?

Thanks

The only options we currently have for batch export are file type and file naming. Sounds like you would benefit from a resize option, is there anything else that would be helpful?

I'm not quite sure what you mean by editing multiple images at once, do you mean drawing an arrow on multiple images at once?

Thanks, yes, a resizing options for export would be important. This could be based on several options, exact pixel size, or a scale of the original, say 50% of original, or maximum pixel based on height or width. These would all be useful.

As for editing, I don't mean adding arrows, still along the role of size, I was trying to edit the pixel size of multiple files.

Btw, dragging from the tray did work to give me full size png's, so thanks for that suggestion.

Hi tyson,

I was looking into the issue about retina images losing quality and it appears to be working for me in 2019.1.3 on macOS 10.14.4. What version of Snagit and macOS are you running?
