I am editing a video tutorial, and want to ripple delete a part of a video which was screen recorded by Camtasia. However, I always have this error. I restarted Camtasia but still have the error.

that function should work; how are you commanding it?

try ctl-X or use the scissors tool

does it happen in different projects with different media on timeline?

you can also contact free tech support

I used the red and green arrow to select the part of the video I want to delete, right click, then ripple delete, and get the error. Delete and Riple Delete are both not working, but Adding time is working in that project.

I tried a different project with the screen captured video only and the ripple delete is working. I also exported the screen video to a mp4, and added it back to the previous project, and have the error as well. I have four track in my project:
  1. intro video from Camtasia website;
  2. screen captured video;
  3. caption;
  4. and annotations.

I cannot reproduce the error; I suspect a project corruption

rebuild the project from scratch again; does it still occur?

if so, leave out the intro video; any help?

it would also help if you posted a full screen capture view of the editor with project at ctl-shift-7 full zoom out
