I am using Camtasia 2019 for Windows. When I ripple delete a selection, it takes more than 1 second to remove it. It never happened on Camtasia 2018.

What are you trying to ripple delete ? Is it something you recorded from your screen, or imported a video and have audio etc. on separate tracks ? I have not had this issue when using the ripple delete feature in CS 2019 on Windows 10. Let us know and sorry for your issue and thanks for posting. Have a nice day/night.

Ripple delete is extremely slow for me. I've been reducing the size of each file by splitting the recording into 3-4 media files and still the same issue. Would love a solution for this as I cant spend all day waiting on  ripple delete.

I would try putting in a ticket to see if this is a known issue or something. The support is free. I have not had issues when using the delete ripple feature but have not used it to my advantage with the videos I create. If you put in a support ticket they may be able to help and have a solution or fix for this happening to you users that are experiencing this issue. Post back please if you find something out and sorry for your problems and hope it gets solved soon.

Regards,

Fred

Did you ever find a solution ragdoll ?

This person seems to be in a similar boat. https://feedback.techsmith.com/techsmith/topics/split-to-improve-performance

except splitting for him seems to work.

It sounds like it could be a problem with Camtasia's core functionality. So the issue has me curious. Because editing shouldn't require jumping through special hoops. Like remembering to split your clips, so the editor doesn't start freezing up.
A number of members report problems popping up when they apply a lot of edits and cuts.

Which has me wondering how you came to think, splitting the videos might be a solution? Was this a tech support suggestion?

Regards,Joe

I'm also having this issue.  Editing starts out OK but starts slowing down and becomes too frustrating.  It is taking 5-10 seconds per ripple delete.

Open a support ticket. They gave me a developer build that fixed the issue.  That suggests they have identified the problem and know how to fix it, so I imagine it will be rolled out in the next update, but you can ask about it in a ticket if you need it sooner.

Adding to the list, just finished a project that took too long to complete, ripple delete was painfully slow at times, 5 seconds would’ve been nice. There were times it looked like there was no response when I performed a ripple delete. It was the only application open and in use. It did depend on the .trec file I was editing. All of the .trec files were recorded within hours of each other with no changes to the system, no reboot.

I don't know if the latest update fixed it. The workaround is to disable autostitching. That way ripple delete is super fast

Thanks, I'll disable autostitch and check later today. The condition seemed to start with the latest update which I applied last week and prior to the start of this latest project. After some initial frustration, I tried uninstalling / re-installing the application but there was no change.

Huzzah.  I thought it was just me!  At first I was like "maybe I shouldn't be so OCD about syllable perfect editing".

This appears to be fixed in update... 2019.0.7  (Build 5034). Cuts and ripple deletes are instant as before.
