Rounded Rectangles - Yes, this again.

After going through page after page of comments about rounded rectangles, I never came across a solution to this. I am using SnagIt version 11. The bottom line is that if the rounded rectangle is narrow in width, it looks like an oval. Which looks really crappy in a technical manual. This is the only issue I have with SnagIt -- I will upgrade to the latest IF this ridiculous shortcoming has been fixed. If not, then, just wow.

So my question is, has this been fixed in the latest version (as of 01-26-2018)?

Thank you very much.

Ugh. Have they ever explained why not? It just seems so fundamental. Even the freeware FastStone has good rounded rectangles at any width or size. Anyway thanks for the quick reply, Paul.

I think the issue is the radius of the corner is too big to start with, and doesn't scale well.  Now, if WE had control over the degree of radius..........

This has arisen again in 2019.
The radius was fine in 2018, but now it is HUGE! And the favourite is NOT holding the resized radius?!?!?

I am also frustrated by this.  The only way I have been able to get around it is to copy and paste a rounded rectangle that was created using an old version of snag it (I suggest you never delete your old versions of Snag It!).  Unfortunately, if you save the shape as a favourite in Snag It 2019, it will save it in the new format, not the old.  So it is something you just have to do time and time again.    :(

Perhaps you  might work past it by pasting, then saving the pasted image as a stamp?

Thanks for trying to help, but this doesn’t work for two reasons.:
1. The stamp doesn’t save as a transparency. It blocks out what I am trying to highlight.
2. I need to resize the box for different objects and the stamp does not resize without one side becoming thinner/thicker than another (not the professional look I am after).

It's obviously a little bit buggy. The radius of rounded rectangles is calculated and it depends on the thickness of the line. In my oppinion the calculated radius fits very well and I don't need to have a slider where I can choose an individual radius. So far so good.
But when you first pick the rounded rectangle tool it starts with a too big radius (as shown in the very first post of this threat). The calculation is triggert when you change the thickness of the line. That is annoying as it interrupts any intuitive workflow and I think it would be easy to fix.

This is DEFINITELY a problem! In 2018 it was smaller and creating small rounded rectangles to go around, say, a button on a form was fine. Now it just makes a circle, which I don't want.

Please let us save the radius or at LEAST make the default the same as in 2018.

Thanks.
