Roundup! - Arrow and Line Tails for Callouts

We’ve heard from users that they want callouts to have arrow and line tails. We often do this manually already: drag out an arrow, make a standard text box over top of the end of the arrow. It’s worse if you draw the text box first, because then you need to know about and hit “Send Backward” on the arrow. It would be great if there was a built-in way of doing this.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Callout with arrow in snagit..

It would be very nice if you could create a callout that has an arrow attached to it, like this:

I am sorry to sound like a grumpy old man, but while it's true that this feature would be very helpful, the original post attracted 5 votes.

Meanwhile there are three requests for another callout effect that cumulatively have attracted 45 votes - the ability for multiple tails.  You can already shrink the base of a tail to create a straight line, but overlaying multiple callouts to get multiple tails is a PITA.  The three requests are:

This function is already available on SnagIt for Mac, which kinda rubs alt in the wound.  Please, pretty please, can we have this in a round up?

Absolutely. There are a few other requests which have collected hundred of votes over the years. One wonders why they are not included in today's list. One of them came up a few days ago, I can't remember now because I'm working on something unrelated; is there a way to find all of one's votes, maybe??

Well, 6. That we know of. What we don't know is how many similar if not identical requests may be buried in the swampy mess that is Get Satisfaction, and how many votes they have.

For mine, both are needed. However many tails you need (within reason) and in whatever style you need (within reason).

I've added my vote to the many and varied threads, including this one.

The ones that I know about, that is.

Oh, and I couldn't help noticing in this thread about multiple tails:

Paul;

The 2018 Roundup, as mentioned here, is for new ideas submitted in 2018 (the actual date is slightly before the start of the year, leading up to just a short while ago). Of those threads, two are a number of years old (one is 2 years old, the other 8) and the last was not selected for last year's Roundup as there were other submitted ideas that had more votes, thus pushing the idea out of the running.

@Robert

For some reason there has been a sudden flurry of voting on a couple of 2018 ideas of mine - perhaps others have seen this effect with their requests.  Perhaps your roundup post caused it?

Are these too late for the 2018 roundup?  Or will I need to resubmit them in 2019?

Hiya Paul;

No need to resubmit them for a new roundup ... because they are in the current Roundup :)

@Paul - I've been seeing a flurry of notifications myself. And I believe the roundup list is why. As folks click the links and vote, I believe we each receive a notification. ;)

If I could vote for this one 10 times I would.  This is my #1 want.

Arrow and Line Tails for CalloutsMultiple Tails on Callout and Straight Line with Multiple Points are so closely related, they could all be done simultaneously, saving time overall on accomplishing these changes.
