Camtasia Studio 8 is available now. It is not yet a 64 bit app, but the rendering engine has been completely rebuilt using newer technology. That should resolve many of these out-of-memory problems that would sometimes happen with earlier releases.

I have not tried many projects to confirm this yet, but I had been having issues with a project recently in which it would not render out a full HD video as, only producing black videos when I started slicing up the clip. Today I put the same project in Camtasia 8, I could slice it, add effects, and do what I wanted to do a week ago, and it did it flawless, perfect!

So far looking good.

Experiencing same thing in CS 8.5 - out of memory on a 4GB system running Win 7 32-bit.  My project is 5 mins long and 38Mb large.  I got things to render 1 time, but since then I've tried and even un/reinstalled and still get the error.  I've shut-down just about everything including anti-virus.

render sections of the project using produce-selection-as, to MP4, swap those MP4s into the project and delete the original, non-interactive, objects

best practice would be to use the Library the assist with this

search for "library" and watch relevant tutorials
