Samsung Galaxy Buds (bluetooth) not working with Snagit

Snagit can't screen capture with the Samsung Galaxy Buds selected as the microphone. It crashes, or fails to capture. Screen recording works with my laptop microphone, Samsung Level U Pro bluetooth headphones, and wired headphones ok.

I'm on latest Windows 10 with all updates installed, using the latest Snagit version 2019.1.3 64 Bit (Build 3847)

I've tried all the troubleshooting listed here https://support.techsmith.com/hc/en-us/articles/211117907-Snagit-Windows-Troubleshoot-Audio which was given to me by Techsmith support.

The Galaxy Buds work with Skype, Zoom, Windows audio/video recorder etc.

My Samsung Level U Pro bluetooth headphones didn't work with Snagit either when I first got them, but after some Snagit updates they started working..

Doing a search for bluetooth on this forum I notice some other people having issues with bluetooth devices, and Techsmith also say you shouldn't really be using Bluetooth devices to capture audio with their software.

I get the feeling bluetooth is a headache to code for. But I really hope Techsmith are able to bake in better bluetooth support in future. Nobody wants to be tethered to their machine these days and audio especially is all heading towards bluetooth - Most phones are doing away with headphone jacks.
