Save in previous versions like MS Office has done for 20 years (backwards compatible). When MS know how to do it, so can you. If it means, that I loose some features, so what ? I have now made some projects in 2019 and I have problem with slow motion on the timeline - and I do NOT want to spent time fixing it.

I just want that CS can save in previous versions, even if I loose something.

Amen, I agree 110%. In the mean time it would be useful to get complaint stats on all versions since 7 - then every paid user could select the version they are least likely to have problems with.
Personally I think 8.x series was the most reliable. see:  https://www.techsmith.com/download/oldversions

Available today - 8.04, 8.1.2, 8.2.1, 8.3, 8.4.4, 8.5.2, 8.6  Seven sub-versions of problem repairs with previous versions. I also don't remember problems with 9.0.5 or 9.1.5.
What TS lacks on their old version page is what was fixed in each release.
It seems starting with v18 & v19, every time they fixed 1 thing, they're caused 4 new problems, just a guess.

Does anyone know what 9.0.5 did that 8.6 couldn't? Or what 9.1.5 did that 8.6 or 9.0.5 couldn't?
Or what can v18.x do that 9.1.5 couldn't? (they were both released on 2019 May 7).

Why v19 before v18 was fixed? It appears there is a race going on at TS pitting the year with new wiz-bang before they fix the old wiz-bang.

I think I've talked myself into going back to 8.6, my needs are minimal, and if I remember correctly, 8.6 was all the wiz-bang I needed.

you've indicated you have 2019 projects that don't perform well; then you can down-version those existing projects so they open in Camtasia 2018 or Camtasia 9, by making a simple edit in the .tscproj file ...

How To Open Camtasia 2019 Project In Camtasia 2018 Or In Camtasia 9 2019-07-01

Upon information and belief, the OFFICIAL TECHSMITH POSITION ... NOT SUPPORTED; NOT RECOMMENDED

But I've down-versioned many such projects without any issues whatsoever
