Saving cropped image to a TIFF file

In Snagit, when I crop a section of an image, and 'Save selection as' as TIFF file - is there a way to change the version of the TIFF file? The reason I need to do this is that the program I am importing the TIFF file into will not handle anything but a 'TIFF 6.0' version. This is something I did not have a problem with in my older version of Snagit.

Hi Mitchell,

I believe the reason you are running into this issue is because Snagit now has Transparency capablities with version 10 and 11. Some programs do not accept the alpha channel of a Transparent file format (32-bit), which a TIF file supports.

The quickest way to remove the Transparency is to uncheck the option when you save as a TIF file.

By unchecking the option, Snagit will automatically save the file as a 24-bit instead of 32-bit, which should make your program smile again.

I hope this helps. Thanks for the great question!

Becky - Thanks for the reply. I have tested your suggestion and indeed the application is now recognizing the TIFF format as it did in my previous version of SnagIt.
