Scale to Fit multiple items at once.

If I drop 50 pictures into a track is there any way to "Scale to Fit" all of them at once?  I've tried selecting them all and grouping them but it doesn't apply to all of them.  I feel like I must be missing something...

Thanks.

I don't believe you're missing a thing.

If you think about it. The program has to look at every picture individually. Assess its size and rescale it to fit the the canvas. Either horizontally or vertically.
The only way it can do that is one image at a time. Which pretty much throws the ball back in your court, to make that happen.
In this particular instance. It would be nice if there was a feature that did that automatically. That being said, I've used a lot of editing programs over the years. And I've never seen one that offers that functionality.

Regards, Joe

Hi there

If you have Camtasia's older brother SnagIt, what you could do is drop the first image on the canvas, scale it to the right dimensions, then export a frame of the image and note the size. Then you could accomplish it by using SnagIt to scale all the other images to the same dimensions. Then you could drop them into your project and they shouldn't need the scaling.

Cheers... Rick :)

Great idea (to use an external program to do a mass resize) ahead of time.  Can do that in Photoshop quite easily.  I'll check it out and see how it goes.  :)

That said, I do wish this was already in Camtasia to save the extra steps--Either as a way to set the default to "Scale to Fit" on drop or be able to apply the option to groups or multi-selected media assets.

Totally agree that it would be a nice option to have in future versions.

Unfortunately, all we presently have are workarounds. And I'm painfully aware of how badly those are often viewed by some. But hey ho, they do get you out of tight spots, no? ;)

LOL, love the forum handle you chose.

Cheers... Rick :)
