SCORM publishing to LMS - remove side content bar?

Whenever I publish a course via SCORM to be uploaded to our LMS (Cornerstone) it always display the course in the LMS with a side bar that users have to "click the title" to view. If it is just an MP4 that needs to be SCORM's how do I remove that side bar and just have the video launch? I'd much rather prefer it to launch full screen with no clicking (unless they want to pause or stop).

Thanks!

Hi Shannon,

Unfortunately that would be a question to ask the Cornerstone community for help with.  The side bar in your screen shot is not part of the Camtasia SCORM production.

Sorry I couldn't be more help,
Ben

We have just started to see the same issue for Camtasia 2019 content.   Once deployed to Cornerstone, that odd Table of Contents pane appeared.  We had to use a workaround of copying the "techsmith-smart-player.min.js" file from the Scripts output folder to the top level.  It seems to work - but it shouldn't be necessary from what we've been told.  At least I know now we aren't alone!  Something seems to have changed....

If you happened to create your Camtasia production July 2nd - 3rd can you try creating your SCORM package again.  We had an issue with our TechSmith Smart Player that may have caused an issue here. If you did not create the SCORM package during that time then I would need to get access to the Cornerstone course and see what is happening under the hood.  If you'd like to reach out to our TechSmith Support they could help you with that.

Hi Ben - we seem to have a workaround.  Our developer had Camtasia 2018 installed, but after upgrading to 2019.0.3 that workaround I mentioned previously is now working :)

Good to hear you got it working.  I'm still confused about why you have to copy the file out of the scripts folder though.

Our company is using 2019.0.10 and we're still having this issue, even with the recommended work around mentioned by DM above. Is there any way to fix this problem as we are holding off from purchasing more techsmith licenses or products  if we can't use it properly with our csod lms.

We have just published a new version to our TechSmith Smart Player that may fix issues with some of the ways Cornerstone embeds our SCORM video.  If you are using Camtasia 2019 or 2020, then if you republish your SCORM production you should get this version of the TechSmith Smart Player (version 5.60.0).

If you want to verify the version:
1) Create a SCORM production that creates a folder and a zip file
2) Navigate to the folder on your drive.
3) Open the "scripts" folder, then open "techsmith-smart-player.min.js" in a text editor.
4) Right at the top of that file is the version number.

I'm looking for feedback to see if this improves your experience.

Thanks,
Ben
