SCORM - Retake test at the end of a quiz when requiring 100% viewing.

When you want to make sure that your delegates are watching all of your video you want to set the viewing percentage required to 100% and answer the quiz at the end. However, when you do this and your delegate fails the course they have to go back in and rewatch the entire video before they can retake the quiz in order for the completion to be met. It seems to me that you would want to skip to the end of the video to retake the test or better have an option at the end of the quiz to retake the failed questions or the whole quiz.

Hi Heather,

Thank you for the feedback. As you described, our player couples viewing percentage and completing any quiz contained with the video.  I can see delegates doing what you described, but I'm not sure we can decouple them in a way that eases this issue while making both time and score items we track. Once a delegate completes a SCORM video lesson, relaunching the lesson looks like a brand new attempt.  Which is why both requirements are needed again.

Hi Ben,
I'm not sure if this question has to do with what you mentioned in this post. But I have two separate courses I created in Camtasia 2019. In one course, the learner can retake the quiz. If they fail, or what to retake it, they can launch the course a second time and simply click on the timeline before the dot that shows where the quiz is located. In the second course, when they complete the quiz and the course, and they relaunch the course, there is no dot. There is no way to access the quiz again. I set the SCORM settings the same for both courses. Do you have any idea why the second course doesn't allow the learner to retake the quiz?
Thank you,
Nancy

Hi Nancy,

My first question is did you produce both SCORM packages around the same time? And about when did you create them?  Feb 12th I published a version of the TechSmith Smart Player with some bug fixes around SCORM.  The TechSmith Smart Player is what plays back Camtasia productions.  Camtasia 2019 would automatically pull new versions of the TechSmith Smart Player when creating a new SCORM package.

It sounds like the second video is restoring the previous session instead of starting a new one.  The SCORM package should start a new session when the user has watched the % of video required to complete the SCORM module and answered all the quiz questions for the entire video.  The Feb 12th release fixed a lot issues around this bookmarking feature.

Also are you seeing the behavior in multiple web browsers?

Thanks,
Ben
