notifications point to wrong / alias URL - this is confusing!

Left a comment on

got notification pointing to:

This is confusing.  E.g. if I have mislinked a resource on my website, the customer might tell me in a comment on the video.  But if I work back from the link in the comment, I can't find the video because this URL seems to be newly generated by Screencast.

Please let me know why this is happening, and if it can go back to the normal way i.e. the notification refers to the original URL of the video.

Apologies for the confusion around the shortened URLs. After some investigation I have determined that this is an issue with the way we are generating the URL in different circumstances. The URLs work in either case as you have noticed, but they will never match in the current version of the site.

Unfortunately I don't have a good work around for you at this time, but I have made the team aware of the issue. I cannot promise a timeline on when we might be able to look into fixing this, but if the situation changes I will let you know in this thread.
