I need to record a 3 hour screen capture training session with audio via Skype callout system.

Can Camtasia do this?

I use a Mac with Lion and I would purchase Camtasia for Mac if this could be done with a minimum of fuss.

It should work assuming you've got the hard drive space. The trial is fully functional, so you might want to download it and give it a try.

You can get the 30-day trial here:

Please let us know what you think, and I hope you enjoy Camtasia.

I would also like to add that choice of audio/video formats will be important for a screencast that long.

If there will be a lot of motion in the video (say if the other person's webcam is visible on your screen), you may not want to use our default TSCC codec. It will create a very large file. You may want to install another codec such as Xvid which is designed to handle motion.
