Screencast.com hosting service is experiencing intermittent issues

Screencast.com is not functioning at 100%. Uploads may time out, and viewing of content is sometimes not working.

The team is working on restoring the service now and we will update this post as more information is available.

This impacts content shared to Screencast.com from Jing, Snagit (both platforms), Camtasia Studio, Camtasia for Mac, Camtasia Relay, Morae, and ScreenChomp.

Until we are able to fix the issue completely, you can try to reload the page or upload the content again.

I made several videos on Screenchomp in the last two days and they are all missing. The links still exist, and seem to be working, but there is no video playing at the link, nor can you download any of the videos.

These were valuable videos to me, that took a lot of time to make. Please fix it if you can.

Since I have upgraded to version 2.8.12339 I have been having the following few issues:
1. Cannot open previously recoded videos, I just see the white screen. I have latest version of flash. videos do not play in IE9, Firefox and chrome browsers.
2. When I make a new video or capture a screenshot and try to upload, it gives me a message uploading but never finishes.

Good news!
The latency problem was quickly traced and resolved.
Bailey and Shilpa, I'd be curious if you're still having any problems, or if this indeed was the root cause and all is well again.

Hi I am considering buying Camtasia Studio and a sub to screencast.com

Two questions
1 - Is this the only way that subscribers are notified of issues with screencast or can we be provided with an email/SMS message to relieve us of the tedium of troubleshooting ?

2- I am in Australia, (another country outside the USA 16 hr time diff to USA East coast time. Will this impact the screencast quality ?

Unfortunately, I do not think that screencast.com is ready for prime time. I have been attempting to upload short training videos with tables of content for several days without success. I have spent many hours trouble shooting the problems. Unfortunately, the problems seem to be difficult to pin down as they are sporatic and the test results inconsistent. I also purchased the premium services, hoping this would resolve the problem. Unfortunately, no joy :-(

Screencast is just not working at all! We are a company with a multilicense on Camtasia and we never get to upload anything at all at screencast.com! Whats going on here?

First tech support wont help me as they keep telling me is my internet connection. I tried everything else, even install the plugin for make camtasia upload the data in small chunks but it still nto working! Even uploading manually from screencast.. The solution is forget about the quizzes and all the fancy features and just rely on services that actually works as Vimeo or Youtube. Very disappointing with Camtasia as they give you the quizzes option but no way to share your videos besided the failure of screencast so at the end is pointless.

It seems impossible to open a folder with accented letters. Giving the international nature of Internet, this is a flaw which will aleniate a lot of Spanish, French, Germain speaking people just to name a few.

Hi,
I also face huge performace problems at screencast.com. It's not only me, its also an issue at my customers, which can't have connectivity problems with videos not playing fluently all at the same time. Then the asking about browser and OS-settings... The alst days the file was playing nicely - now, with more traffic - it suddently has poor performace.
Let's see if screencast.com is getting these problems solved quickly.
