screenshots in email image too small - not able to click and open to bigger screen

Does anyone have this issue?  Currently, we have 3000+ users who have snagit.  Most times when I receive an email with a screenshot, I can click on it to make it bigger.  Lately, there is no ability to click it bigger so I am unable to read it as they have left it as a smaller image not the original size.

Does anyone else have this issue and if so, have you found a solution or is it a Google Gmail issue?  Are there any fixes that I am unaware of that I can let others know?  Does this have to do with an older version of snagit that isn't giving the "open to bigger window" option?

Thanks for your help.

Have you consulted with the person that sent the email? Perhaps that's the exact size they used?

I think its easy to test the image's size.  Save it to the desktop, open file explorer, rt. click on the file go to properties and the "details" tab will report actual size.

Yes, I have made comments that the image is small, but usually it doesn't matter and I can click it to enlarge to a bigger window.  In this case, there is no option for clicking it bigger.

My own guess here is that most usually an image that has been used is substantially large. As a result, a smaller version is somehow created by the email client and substituted in the message body. As such, it then becomes clickable to see the full sized and much larger counterpart.

Because the image is small enough to comfortably fit, there is no need to create the smaller version and substitute.

Perhaps others have different opinions.

Cheers... Rick :)

Kim - you haven't said what email client you use so I experiment: I pinched a copy of Rick's mug shot, emailed it to myself and I can  mouse <ctrl>roll  text, but his pic always remains  this 26mm x 26mm in Thunderbird, i.e. 100 x 100 pixels and my screen is 96 dpi. Then I uploaded it here and noticed that  it can ctrl-wheel to almost any size  on this page. (Max is about 4x).

Then I sent a much larger picture to myself (2500 x 1600), and sure thing, it fill the email space fully. I can control the size by making the Thunderbird app bigger or smaller and the pic always fills the available space. If I click on the pic, it displays @ 100%, but I have to pan around to see it the whole thing.

Ha!  No, I think the other team is using the smaller image which is where the restriction is.  Thanks for the trial and error.  It was helpful.  I was not able to enlarge the pic of you but I was able to click on the bridge and see it larger than life.  I will spread the word on the smaller images.

Thanks,Kim
