This is how it works on my Acer c720p:

Select "Screen" on the pullout menu, right above the mic. You should be prompted to select a window or the whole screen. Once you select one, you will be recording video.

Hi Andre,

What Karl S stated is correct, and if you follow that process you should be able to record your screen. Keep in mind that at the moment, you will also need to install the APP for Snagit for Chrome, along with the extension, if you want to record video.

If you confirm all of the above, and are still having trouble, please let us know!

Hi Karl and Kelly,

Thanks so far.

-> Select "Screen" on the pullout menu, right above the mic. You should be prompted to select a window or the whole screen. Once you select one, you will be recording video.

Yes that's working (it doesn't say 'recording' but 'sharing', but i already understand that is the same in this case).

I do have both.

Now the problem occurs that i don't know where to find the recording?

Hi Andre,

After you choose what you want to record (desktop or window), and click the "Share" button, you are now recording your screen. Do whatever you want to do during your recording. When you are finished, you should see a small window towards the bottom of your screen (Windows/Mac) or in the corner of your screen (Chromebook) that says ""TechSmith Snagit is sharing your screen." To finish your recording, click the "Stop sharing" button on that small window. Shortly after you click that button, a preview window should appear that has your video displayed. From there, you can view your video by clicking the play button, or you can share your video to YouTube or as an animated GIF by clicking on the blue button in the bottom-right corner with three white circles on it.

Also note that after you stop recording, Snagit automatically uploads the video recording to your Google Drive in the "TechSmith" folder.

If you're still having trouble, just let us know!

Ok guys, it's working now. Thanks so far!

One more question left, can i change my microphone settings somewhere?

Before on my Mac i could choose between build in microphone and external microphone, now i can't find this option.

Hi Andre,

Glad things are working better for you now! At the moment, it is not possible to change the recording device from within Snagit for Chrome; it simply uses the default system microphone. On your Mac, if you go into your system settings and change the microphone recording default device to the one you want to use, Snagit for Chrome should hopefully detect that, and use that microphone instead. You will also need to adjust your recording levels there as well (ex: if your recordings are too loud/soft).

The blue App area at the bottom of the pop up menu you linked to will open the library. Another way to get it is to click the Chrome Apps button (9 white squares at the bottom left of your screen) and open Snagit. Also, once you finish Sharing/Recording the video the Library should open.

I figure if I can answer a question I might as well return the favor. I had submitted the reply just as the email for yours came over. Had I waited I would have read yours and added. Seems we both missed parts in our responses and covered each other well without even knowing it! Either way, it makes a better forum for all!
