Seamless integration of Recents Tray and Library + Lock image to pole position

This idea was offered up 2 months ago, but as it was buried in a reply to another post it got lost.

A limit of 15 recent tray items wouldn't be an issue if there was a seamless integration with the library such that when you got to the 15th in the tray there was a right pointing chevron that loaded the previous 15 images from the library, and a corresponding one the other end to take you back.

This would:

1. Make it much easier to find recent captures that.
2. Make it much easier to drag and drop "library" items into WordPress, because currently you can do that from the tray  (which generates a png) but not directly from the library (which tries to drop a .snag file, which WordPress rejects)

And, much as i hate multiple ideas in one post, while the patient is open, please make it possible to lock a tray item to pole position so that it is always visible despite scrolling the rest of the entries.  This is necessary because when you are trying to  build up a composite image from many captures, your target eventually disappears off to the right.  The workaround is to duplicate it, but that is messy and can result in you updating the wrong copy by mistake and ending up with 2 partially complete and differing images.

Interesting concept. I can see the merits so I voted for it.

A few versions back, as I added more captures to the recent captures tray. SnagIt RAM memory usage climbed rapidly. It was so high, into the GB's actually. I thought that may be the reason for the 15 recent items limit.

So I started capturing some webpages as a test.

I've got .......50.......Captures in my tray as we speak.

The memory never spiked, I imported a couple of jpeg's to break the cycle of capturing screen shots. And I got tired of adding screen shots to the editor.
I restarted Camtasia and there still there. I checked my settings, under maximum recent files the setting is 10 in preferences.
I made the thumbnails as small as I could, so you can see some of them, there's even a scroll bar at the bottom of the editor. You can see how far the scroll bar needs to move to the right to expose the other thumbnails.

This doesn't help your feature request, but I think I've had over 15 images in my tray for a long time.I usually have larger thumbnails and delete them manually from time to time. Why I can exceed the limit I do not  know.

I've seen more than 15 items in the tray at times too,  And I agree that memory might be an issue if there were too many, which is why I think that the <  and  > navigation controls should load the previous or next n images.  It would help performance if that previous or next set were cached in the background while the user was looking at the current set.  Or perhaps loading the next set would be fast enough for that not to be an issue.

After rebooting my computer this morning I'm at 24 recent captures in my tray.

My setting is 10? It all makes no sense. My Memory usage is down to 160MB right now. It never exceeded 800MB yesterday which isn't that bad. Not when you have 16GB installed anyway.
