Selection tool leaves a blur when trying to move my selection and I don't want it to. I've ensured there are no effects on. Please help! :)

Every time I make a selection on an image and try to move that selected part, whilst I can move the selected part, it leaves a random blur, like it's sorted of skidded the selected part I've just moved. I've uninstalled, I've gone back to older versions, I've switched blur on and off in the effects, I've tried everything. Can anyone help please?

I'm not sure about the Mac version, but in the Windows version there is an "Auto fill" option. If you have that option, perhaps it's enabled?

Also, if you have the option, check the Optimization setting.

Without seeing a screenshot, my best guess is the same as what Rick mentioned, that you have "Auto fill" enabled. When you move a selection, you basically have 3 options:

1 - Cut and paste: instead of dragging, do a cut and paste. that will leave the area you selected the same as it was before.

2 - Transparent fill: this will leave a transparent hole where your selection had been before

3 - Autofill: This will attempt to automatically fill in the background to look like what might have been "behind" the selection you moved

however, this doesn't work perfectly in all cases and you can sometimes get blurring like this. It all depends on where you make your selection and what fill setting you have.

I hope this makes sense, let us know if you have any questions about this.
