Set defaults for fonts, colors, callouts, transitions, etc

Hello folks,

Camtasia 2018 addressed this request, in part, with the new Theme capabilities. We are continuing to expand Themes in the next version of Camtasia. As such I'm marking this as implemented.

This request was packed with related concepts. I'd describe most of the rest as requests for Favorites, or customizable presets. This is something that's under consideration for the future. If this is something you are keen to see in the product, please open up a new request and vote to support it.

I create video graphic novels, and my characters use dialog boxes. The default color of orangey-red for this callout looks AWFUL in a graphic novel. Why isn't it white? If you're not going to give us the option to set the default, you should at least leave the default color white for a dialog box (the square or bubble that makes people "say" things in a comic).

I assume you know how to change the callout color in properties?

suggest you make one you like, then store it in the Library as an asset, to use whenever you need

Yes, thank you Kayakman. I've been doing that.

While I support this idea and have voted for it... we're still not going to get a consistent look while Camtasia only allows us to set the ridiculously meaningless "scale percentage" for annotations rather than "x pixels by y pixels", and while the text plays stretchy-shrinky rather than being a fixed size that the USER specifies.

So is there any progress on this idea? The themes thing is cool, and it does save some time, but I shouldn't have to go to my annotation properties, click color, and find the color I want.

It should be an option in my preference to change the red to the color of my choice.

Is this an oversight on my part, or did TechSmith execute two major releases with upgrades to shortcuts and themes without giving an option let you choose your defaults?

Sounds like what you're calling a shortcut or favorite is what we think of as presets. User presets on both platforms is planned.
