Setting Up a Remote Recording

I am new to Morae. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Q1: To set up a remote recording, please advise re how I manage these these aspects of the set-up. We would like to simply send test links to end users and NOT have to watch the recordings in progress. They would self-administer the session. And, we would review the footage later. To do this, I assume we would set markers/events while viewing the recorded sessions after the fact. After I set markers/tasks, Morae could analyze these markers/tasks to determine length of time needed to complete task, and level of difficulty it took to complete. Is this right? Not sure how I would plan this in advance otherwise.

Q2: Since these will be remote recordings, how does it work to capture screen within a screen/user facial reactions? I will not be able to know in advance what kind of built-in cameras users have on their laptops. Therefore, I do not know how I would "setup" the recording of their faces as they complete the tasks. I would assume that we would forego the PIP feature since it cannot be set up on my end. Correct?

Q1: You will be able to set markers and tasks in Manager when you review the videos.  It is a bit more cumbersome than doing it live in Observer.  You are correct that you can use these markers and tasks for analysis just as if you had added them in Observer.

Q2: If you set the recording configuration up to use a camera, the Recorder should just select the first camera it finds on the user's system.  If your users are interacting with Recorder's main UI, they will see a preview, so they can see whether the camera is aimed correctly.

Let me know how it goes.
