I've searched the help boards but not found a solution to what seems like a really elemental part of Snagit for Mac. When I've worked on a few files (say screenshots, with markup) then I want to share them... let's say there are 5 files. I need some workable way to gather these five files into ONE document of some sort and then share it. It could be a word doc, pdf, powerpoint, something that I can send to someone else and they can page through it to see my markup. How do people do this??  I assume/hope I must be missing some obvious way to do this. Please help!

If you want a simple "quick and dirty" method, try this. Export your screenshots as PDFs (in the File menu). Open one of them in Preview. In Preview, choose Thumbnails (in the View menu). Then all you have to do is drag the other PDFs into the thumbnail sidebar. If you need to change the order, you can drag them up and down. Note: If you need any of the PDFs as single documents in the future, work with copies.

I can't tell if maybe my version is buggy (I'm updated to 2018.1.1), or if the app is just not optimized well for Mac or if there's some serious gaps in the functionality.

Regarding your method above - doesn't work. First off, I can't select multiple items in the Tray, as I mentioned. In the LIBRARY I can select multiple items but in the File menu the 'Export to PDF' option is grayed out. Even if I just select ONE item in the library that option is grayed out.

What I can do is use the SHARE menu (rather than File menu). I can select multiple items in the library and then 'Share' them. However, none of those options works either. Even if I just select one item and use Share > MS Word, or Share > PPT, it opens that app but doesn't place the Snagit file into a new doc. I just get a blank doc.

What I can also do is Export using right-click contextual menu and export them as images, but that's a problem also since it doesn't export the canvas color unless I choose .tiff (in which case the files are much bigger than they should be) but I guess that's a separate issue.

So even if I use this workaround of Export all items from library as images, and then use them to create a pdf... that's not exactly quick-and-dirty. There REALLY needs to be a direct multiple file export from Snagit to SOME form of document or some way to share them in a designated order. It's fine to be able to nicely/easily mark up files (thank you, Snagit) but that's only half the workflow for me. I also need to SHARE the markup. Seems super obvious to me.

You should be able to Command Click multiple images in the 'recent captures' section on the bottom and share multiple files.  This should be added to the application immediately.  That is basic behavior.  Never had to do it but when I saw your post, I tested on my Mac and not there.

Another work around -- if you have an app like Graphic Converter:  Open the Finder storage part of Snagit (File > Reveal in Finder), locate the file(s) and then Option-Drag to the Desktop. (This makes duplicate files on your destination -- the Desktop.) Open said files with Graphic Converter then go File > Save As and there will be a popup giving choice between about eight or nine formats such as .jpg, .png, .bmp, etc....

After struggling with (exploring) this for a few days now, here's my solution and it's not bad in my estimation... [This is on MAC SnagIt 2018]

1. Work up as many images as wanted in Snagit... markup etc
2. Select multiple images in Library (cannot do this in the tray)
3. EXPORT the selected images (right-click contextual menu > Export ; OR button in lower right corner of interface - Export).
-- NOTE - export as TIFF to preserve differentiated canvas. This is important especially if any markup notes extend beyond the margins of the image, otherwise white images blend directly into default white bg, in PDF for example, and makes it hard to accurately access the image.
-- By exporting as TIFF the images are much larger than necessary but preserving the differentiation of canvas is important in my case
4. Create pdf in acrobat using File > Create > Combine Files into Single PDF - drag all the TIFFS into the Combine Files screen. Rearrange them there (or later) then 'Combine'.
5. Voila! not bad and relatively efficient. PLUS, bonus, the pdf creation automatically reduces the size, so even though the individual TIFFs were 10-15MB each, the combined 10 pg pdf was only 2.3 MB. BONUS!

So there's the work-around. For the record, I still think it's surprising bordering on bizarre that snagit doesn't offer better MULTIPLE IMAGE sharing options. Tech support claims they don't get much request for this. So, maybe I'm the only one. But man it seems like such an obvious part of the workflow.

Anyway - snag on!
