The rumor is that sharing with SnagIt Notes is going away.
(For those of you who aren't familiar with it,selecting to Share an image to SnagIt Notes makes it a small Post-It(tm) like floating window that you can minimize or drag around the screen.)
This is a key functionality that we use EVERYDAY and LOVE.
Please make SnagIt Notes available again.
Thanks,
Tom

I do find it a fuzz amusing that you had to attempt to explain it. If it were such an amazing feature, why would it need explaining?

When you're viewing an image in the SnagIt Editor, if you have installed the SnagIt Notes add-in, under the Share button on the toolbar, there's an option to share with SnagIt Notes.
Clicking that button converts the image you are currently viewing into a small 3"x 3" floating image that looks much like a Post-It.
The floating image is totally independent and does not depend on the SnagIt Editor. You can drag it around on the screen, move it to a different monitor, etc. It's always on top of anything else on the screen (although you can collapse it if you want.)
It's a very handy way to keep a screen capture (or, for that matter, many screen captures in different notes) visible as you're working on something else. I often have several visible to help me keep track of some minor details from an application I was previously using.)
For example, perhaps I'm working in Excel and want to keep a small piece of my current workbook visible after I close down Excel. (Maybe it's a to-list, or some important formulas. It could be anything, from any app) I use SnagIt to capture that piece of the workbook, and then I put it into SnagIt Notes as a floating window. The tiny view of the the Excel workbook that I captured remains visible for the rest of the day in a movable, resizable floating window.
Essentially, it's like have a tool that creates movable PostIts from any SnagIt image.
As for needing to explain it: I don't mean to sound aggressive, but in my opinion, there are many great features in SnagIt and other powerful programs that need explaining, either because people haven't discovered them, or the features themselves involve several steps and options. It'd be great if all software was self-documenting, but I don't think we're there yet! :-)

I've never seen nor used this feature. And I've been using SnagIt for longer than I care to share here. ;)
So, it sounds like this was an add in? Was it something created by a third party? If so, maybe some fundamental aspect of the SnagIt core changed and they simply need to update it to work with the newer versions?
Cheers... Rick :)

I can see me taking advantage of this feature. Not sure why they would eliminate this feature. But now that I can open multiple SnagIt image files in one place. I'm pretty pleased about that.
I saw the post you probably read and I hope it's wrong. But if it's true, It's just another feature that is probably under-utilized because it's misunderstood. Just another reason TechSmith stands to lose more customers.
I like Share to SnagIt enough to post a screen Shot.
Thanks for Jumping In This is going to come in handy!
Regards, Joe

Hi Tom,
Unfortunately we cannot post it in the forums right now. I brought this up with our Development team and they are looking into what needs to be done to see if we can officially support it, and make it available on our web site again. If you know someone looking for it in the meantime, they will need to open a Support ticket as it is not officially supported right now. Sorry! Please let me know if you have any questions.
Kind Regards,Nate
