Share icon is not present in ScreenChomp - students can't share

Students in my school (in grades 5-7)are creating ScreenChomps to share with their parents for an upcoming Open House. However, MANY of the students no longer have the "share" icon at the bottom of their screen in order to copy the link for their screen chomp. This occurred after a recent update, and we need this rectified asap! How do we get this back???!!!???!!!
Thank you,
Pamela

One teacher thinks it may be due to the students entering their birth month and year after the update. If that is the case - how do we change this setting? We are halfway through this project, and half of the students finished their screen chomps and half have technical difficulties due to the update.

Pamela,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

Due to changes in the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) that took affect in July we had to add in the age verification in ScreenChomp. The changes in COPPA resulted in us being unable to store children created content without the consistent of a parent or of an intermediary (teacher) like yourself.

If you uninstall ScreenChomp and reinstall it you will be able to start fresh. However, when you uninstall ScreenChomp you will lose all the recordings that have been done which it sounds like will be a problem for some of your students.

Are their other problems that the update has caused for your class? Or is it just the inability to share?

We are very sorry for the problems this has caused you and your class. If we can be of further assistance please let us know.

Why would the share button no longer come up? My older videos have the share option..

We would like to email the videos to the teacher. We don longer see a share button when watching the preview.

3rd graders unable to share videos.

My third graders can no longer share their videos with me. Is this due to the age verification? Can this be changed? We use ScreenChomp on a daily basis to archive student thinking. It's very frustrating having an app they love, but not the ability to share their work.
