In 7, I would position the cursor at the start of a section I want to delete, hold down the shift key and cursor to the end of the segment I want to delete and press delete. A great timesaver, not having to go to the mouse. Is that supposed to be available in 8?

Yes, it's there. Double click on the time bar above the timeline to collapse the in/out markers to the playhead. Position the playhead where you'd like the selection to start, then hold the shift key, and use the right/left arrows to make a range selection.

Hope this helps.

I also miss the "Delete" option from 7, the "Cut" option is to slow and splits the section, where the "Delete" option was only that.

Please bring it back to ver 8.

There is no delete option?! why would you take that away? When I use cut, it cuts up the time line, and then any zooming I do I have to do for every part of the timeline where I used the cut option.
Will there be a delete option?
If not, how can I downgrade to 7?
Thanks

Hello,

I have an update that may partially help with this request. If I understand correctly, one wish was to be able to delete a selection with the delete key. Example image: http://screencast.com/t/zEVEGO7z This is now possible in the update we released today (8.0.3).

One thing that is not implemented is the ability to make a cut (or delete) leaving the clip intact as one seamless clip. Currently, every time you cut, you will split the clip.

Here's a complete list of changes in the latest update.

Sincerely,
Mike Curtis

Will this be changed? (to like it was in 7)

Can we at least hear why it was thought to be desirable for every little delete to create a new clip?
