Simplified user interface - Camtasia

Problem: Camtasia has no way to add simplification/simplified user interface shapes to the visual content in the recording like snagit does.

Solution: add a way for Camtasia to evaluate the colors and elements in the recording and apply simplification for the element on the canvas.

The value-add: 1) helps Camtasia creators focus their audience’s eye where it needs to go and help expand the shelf life of the content.

2) aligns with TechSmith’s mission of SUI enhancing shelf life of material.

How: not as sure, but I would think there would need to be a snagit-style simplification process run for each frame the effect is applied. This would also prevent the user from needing to split the annotation/shapes for each frame and adjust on the canvas.

I'm not sure if it's bad pool to reply to one's own post, but I thought I'd at least get some sense of feasibility.

Well, this was really cool. At around @22:00.

To be fair, I think the workflow described:
1) a job to compare screen movement vs. cursor movement - i.e., what's changed on this screen besides the mouse moving and create snags or frames
2) a job to make the cursor its own separate track

would not be an easy request of the software dev team -- but I hope Camtasia moves in that direction.

Given the consumption rate of video, I would think future-proofing it would be just as important a content strategy as static images.
