Simplify Tool for Camtasia

I like the Simplify Tool you've added in SnagIt - now can we have it in Camtasia? Making simplified screenshots and adding them to Camtasia is a lot of work. Creating shapes to cover areas on Camtasia is also a lot of work and uses a lot of tracks. It would be much easier and nicer to have the Simplify Tool. And also have an area or areas you can select to not be simplified (if that makes sense). I do software screen captures and also need the cursor to stay on top of any shapes I add - is there a way to pull the cursor out and put it on it's own track? (That last one might be a separate idea?).

I do the same type of work as you and run into the same issues. Masking content by replacing it, rather than blurring, is a major pain in general and even more so when combined with moving images in the screen capture or with animation.

I'm not familiar with the Simplify tool, as I still use SnagIt 13, but I took a look at the tutorial. It looks interesting, but I suspect that it would be really difficult to implement in video, except for static images.

Your last item would also be of great interest to me, as I hate it when the cursor disappears behind masked items. Fixing that would require much more sophisticated layering or the ability to extract the cursor from the background video. I have no idea if any other product can do that, but perhaps there's a way to identify and extract moving items from a video clip that's otherwise static.

While we're on the subject of working with screen caps, I'm still struggling with how to get smooth screen scrolling and cursor movement. Any help with these items would be much appreciated.
