Simulate Mouse

I'd like to have the ability to simulate a mouse click for where there isn't one, including the cursor left/right mouse effects.

This would be useful where I want to hide the actual mouse (Maybe its moving too much) or where I want to introduce the mouse (Over a piece of a screen that I have manually created rather than actual software).

I currently do this by introducing an image of the mouse which I then move around the screen, but when I need to simulate the click, together with cursor effects, the only way I can currently do it is with a snippet of video which I make transparent. The result isn't as effective as the actual animation (I use ripple a lot)

Another option would be to allow users to place images and other items under the mouse layer (ie between the mouse and the screen capture)

You could just take a PNG of a mouse arrow (so the background is transparent) and animate it on the screen using camtasia animations. I know it isn't a built in function (like in Captivate) but it could meet your immediate need.

Hi Joel

Thanks - I already do that - It works OK, but is clunky and the real issue is simulating the same click I use elsewhere. I use the ripple cursor animation, which distorts the background a certain way. I have even used a short video of a mouse click, which I overlay, but the distortion is always of the original video, not the one I am trying to simulate.
