Since upgrading to Snagit 4 for Mac captures are no longer automatically in the clipboard. Any setting to fix this?

In Snagit 3 for Mac, whenever I captured, a copy of the capture was placed in the clipboard so I could immediately paste into Mail, for example.

But since upgrading to Snagit 4 the other day, captures are not placed in the clipboard.

Is there some setting I can change to fix this problem? I capture/paste, capture/paste, capture/paste all the time!

Hi Doug, I think all that stuff is up in the capture tool now

In your menubar, look for the "S" logo and then see if you can get your settings to match what I highlighted above.  You can even save all the values as a 'preset' and assign that preset a keyboard shortcut if desired.

I tried it and it seemed to work for me.

(If you don't have the "S" in the menu bar, check the Snagit preferences->General Tab->"Snagit Shows" section)

Thanks. That worked. I hadn't bothered putting the S in the menu bar because it only shows up on my external monitor and not on the menu bar of my main MBP display. Plus I thought it was redundant. But I see that setting is there and when I toggle that on it works.

Maybe it's the side tab that's redundant now?

Anyway, thanks.

Doug, I agree with you.

Once you have your keyboard shortcuts setup, you probably don't need to see the 'S' in the menubar, nor the side bar -

I have my preferences set to only show the S up top, and I use a tool called "macBartender" to help me organize my menubar icons, (I have about  22 of them, and they were starting to take too much space.)

Bartender might be overkill if it's just the one "S" you're worried about, but if you have menubar icon overload, it could be a utility you'd get some value from.

Thanks. I'll check that out. It might be that the S fits on the external monitor and just doesn't fit on the 13" MBP main display.

It seems I ought to have one or the other though, because that's how I get into the editor when I need to. Unless there is a shortcut for that as well.

Thanks.
