Sketch motion and animations along a polyline.

Is there a way to make a sketch motion along a user defined polyline?  Similarly is there a way to make an animation along a user defined polyline?  For example, in the figure I am drawing a cross section (red line) of a river by making a series of straight line sketch motion segments and stitching them together.  It would be a lot more convenient if I could defined a polyline of the red cross section and have the sketch motion follow it.
Similarly, if one can define a polyline, that allows an animation (such as an arrow) to show the progress of the development of the polyline.
Any ideas or is this a wish list itme?

One way you might achieve it would be to create the polyline as you wish to see it when it has been fully revealed. Then animate it by either using the crop tool and animate the crop (to reverse and reveal) or to cover it with another image that is slowly cropped away in an animation so as to reveal it.

Other than that, I think it's wish list time. ;)

If, and only if, you have that vector polyline, drawn in some other application where you can export it as either a png with transparent background or a black line on white I can have a workaround for you...
