I know there was a sketch motion in Camtasia 7 and now I cannot find it in C8. Is there some motions I can download?

Thanks, regards, Natasa

Hi Natasia,
We still have those in version 8.
You can find them here in the Callouts tab, dropdown menu:

I hope this helps!

OK, here is what I have discovered. Without you asking this question, I never would have noticed this.

Overall, that callout should still be in your Camtasia Studio callout folder. However, it is not showing since it has somehow been removed from the XML file in that same folder.

So, you will need to add it to that document. Here's how:
1. Close Camtasia Studio.
2. Navigate to: C:\Program Files (x86)\TechSmith\Camtasia Studio 8\Media\Studio\Callouts
3. Drag the motioncallouts.xml file to your desktop.
4. Open that document on the desktop with Notepad.
5. Add the following text to the end of the document, before the last line of code (see image below).

   <Callout type="sketch">
      <name>Sketch Motion Scribble</name>
      <sourceFile>anim_scribble.svg</sourceFile>
      <fadeInSeconds>2.00</fadeInSeconds>
      <speedChangeMultiplier>200</speedChangeMultiplier>
      <totalPauseFraction>.2</totalPauseFraction>
   </Callout>

6. Save the document.
7. Drag it back to the original location and overwrite the original file.
8. Reopen Camtasia Studio. That file should now be in the lineup:

Nice Job Kelly,

worked perfectly for me. {: >)

Now, is there a workaround to get the Camtasia 7 recorder options on a windows 8 machine selectable?
You can open settings but they cannot be selected at all. This is a know issue, I thought I read that a windows 8 touch screen update was the culprit. But I cannot find that thread anymore. I know someone that needs this fix badly. I hope you can help.

Natasia thanks for asking that question as I have been using Camtasia Studio for quite sometime but never really used that callout much and did not even notice it was missing. that is what I love about this user forum as we all learn from each other and continue learning. Feedback is also great to see with more participation from the users.

Kelly that was a great solution and thanks for getting that information put out here as I now have that callout back. Now I am curious to see what is going to be said on Joe's question.

Thanks again and have a great day/night.
