Smart Player Issue On Mobile

Hello,

Mobile traffic in most countries at the moment accounts for at least 50% of all traffic if not more!

So with that in mind, I think player themes should be re-introduced.  On standard android and iphone portrait view the smart player controls cover half the video screen.  Interactivity goes out the window, so my suggestion to allow for a more robust and slimmer player, more like YouTube a red or blue line or something, instead of the monstrosity of a player we now have to contend with. Or a choice to choose a mobile smart player and a desktop/tablet smart player.

This is important, cause all the really cool interactive features Camtasia offers at the moment goes out the window on mobile devices; as the smart player covers them all up!  Yes you can hide the player, but when touched it comes back on covering ads, callouts and hotspots.  I feel this is very, very important!

Cheers - B

Responsive HTML5 interface would be the logical, forward thinking solution. I hope we will see that happen.

Hey Susan,

Yes I agree with you 100%, however if you use bootstrap framework, the video becomes responsive in any case, also any video produced with camtasia html5 production does scale down BUT NOT THE PLAYER CONTRIOLS nor the PLAY BUTTON nor the REPLAY button.   So where's the logic in that ?

Anyway, I'm sure techsmith knows all this - to slightly change the subject, google from next year is going to ONLY rank sites by their ability to be able to service mobile devices - that alone tells you a lot!!!

Lets hope the Camtasia crew heed these developments.

All the best ....

Sounds like an oversight that can be adjusted without too much fanfare. Hope so. This is the kind of very valid request that should go to the head of the line. IMHO Great call on your part. Thanks!
