Snag 2018 Crashing on Startup

Hi.  I'm using Snagit 2018 on my Mac Pro early 2008 with OS X 10.11.6 El Capitan.  Recently when opening Snagit 2018, it has started crashing immediately after opening and asking me to send off a report to Apple. If I keep reopening the app after about 8 or 9 tries, Snagit opens and stays open.  No other application does this on this machine does that and I have no errors as far as I know.  BTW, the machine has 24 GBs of RAM and the 1TB Mac HD SSD has 237 GBs available.
Today I downloaded a copy of the latest version of Snagit 2018 (18.2.8) and re-installed it on my Mac.  No change, still does the same thing.

Any ideas?

Thank you for you help,
Gerry

Sounds like something I experienced during the El Cap days. With Lucas' help, we narrowed down to an old fashioned preferences conflict. I had prefs for the 2018 and an older version. Deleted the prefs for the older version, restarted the Mac and all was well. It's worth checking. In system prefs, look for files beginning com.techsmith.....

Hi,

Sorry about this! If you open up a ticket with our Tech Support, they should be able to look at the crash logs and figure out what's going on here.
