Snag-it Editor 13 - Unable to see objects after flattening.

Situation as follows:
1) Take screen shot
2) Open in editor - annotate with text, arrow, whatever
3) want to flatten objects so they are visable in a jpg

Even when all objects are 'forward' when flattened, they all 'disappear' and no annotations can be shared in other applications.  Like word.

Cannot confirm. I duplicated a file with movable objects, selected all then flattened it It copied and pasted into an email as expected Am I missing a step in the way you produced the problem? (Hint) you can copy all and paste into the body of an email usually successfully without flattening anything)

Here are the steps I took.

1) Took screen shot of your email, added in a text call out as follows:

2) Save as a  JPG , call out disappears: (with or without flattening, i cant seem to keep it from disappearing).

I would run a "Repair Install" of SnagIt.

You run it from the Control Panel as if you were going to uninstall the program but select "Change Instead"

I'm not sure if this helps...

You may be adding unnecessary steps.  After grabbing an image and adding callouts, stamps, shapes, etc., I just click on "Copy All" in upper right corner of SnagIt.

I don't flatten...flattening is not required if just copying from SnagIt and pasting an image into a Word, PPT, XLS file.  Nor do I save the image as .jpg or any other file type.

I then insert my cursor in the desired location in the Word document and hit Ctrl+v.  The image is pasted in with all my annotations.  When pasted, the image is "flat" by default and the callouts and other annotations cannot be selected or edited.

Give it a try and see if that works for you.

I am having this same issue after upgrading to snagit 2018, any arrows/text/hilights do not copy out or save if saved as a JPG. if i flatten the image all objects disappear and it is back to the original image which as the copy and save function would be effectively flattening it, makes sense.

Very annoying as this basically makes snagit useless!

Have tried repair as suggested and also tried running the editor in compatibility mode with no luck.

I should note that i upgraded from snagit 12, i skipped 13.
