Okay. I might be the only person experiencing this issue AND not to sound ungrateful, but...couldn't you just go back to SnagIt Editor 11.x. With the latest 12.x editor update (after all the complaints of the new version released) there is TOO much contrast with the light background, making the ribbon bar and menu bar even harder to read. At this point, the dark background is preferrable. That's what I call irony. Come on! Please just go back to version 11.x.  Thanks.

Hi Sandy,
I'll pass along your comments to the Snagit team. It is continually improving and perhaps something can be done to improve the contrast.
Thanks for being a Snagit user.

Hello There,

First off, thanks for the effort. Being able to choose the location of the Datastore should please a lot of people. I didn't want to be the first one to complain about this lackluster effort to improve the visibility of SnagIt 12 with a New Theme.

But this Light Theme is Blinding. It looks like you took the "Black and Light Grey colors" of SnagIt 12.1 ,
Inverted the Colors and called it a Day.
I wondered why the New Theme  Mock-Up's  were never shared for users discretion. See Link Posted Below.

In the coming week, I will be reaching out with a few mockups for our idea of the light theme in hopes to gain your insights and feedback.

I no longer wonder what happened. You ultimately took the Low Road. See Image Below.

You took the High Road and promised a change to please  your  Complaining Customers.

The "Black Theme" is easier on the eyes than the "New Gray".

I'm more than Disappointed.

I'm Shocked to be honest. Joe.

Sandy, Amen to a very frustrating release of such a previously great product. If you will go to File-preferences and set the color scheme to Dark AND the background to Light gray you'll get something that somewhat livable.

Agreed; This new monochrome, flat UI standard that is being implemented in several software vendors is just dumb. UI stands for USER INTERFACE - if it is difficult to locate functions and hard to use - it is a poor UI, regardless of what "designer" thinks this new "standard" is cool/aesthetically pleasing. I am currently fighting this same battle in our own software development area, imagine if all the images I use SnagIT to communicate design specifications create educational illustrations with - were monochrome. We live in a world of color. I do think "color" was the reason we matriculated from monochrome monitors to ANSI colors to full 32-bit colors over the years, correct? This UI color theme is a a major step backward.
