Snagit 12: what a failure in interface usability!

Let's start with what I like: the editor.  It's great.
I also use camtasia for screencams and I also love that product (so I don't need video in Snagit)

Has anybody at TechSmith did user experience research?  I suspect 95% of all users have this profile
  • "Print Screen", select region, copy/edit.  Cool, so far, so good
When you "do" need to do something else, it's NEVER the same way as the previous time.  Meaning Profiles = USELESS annoyance
  • Fixed zone has different size
  • Sometimes you want to directly save without prompts, sometimes you want the editor
  • Sometimes it's a scrolling down, sometimes its other things
  • And yes, I loved the "select text" which is gone now.
  • I don't want to setup a freaking hotkey for my "select region" wich keep changing: I want the thing to "repeat what I did last".
In other words, I want to right click on snagit, open the bloody config page (the one of 8 versions ago was already perfectly fine) and do the thing I want to do.

The Minimal interface that gets in the way... what a nightmare.  You get rid of it, but to do profiles, you need it... Ahhhhh  dying here.  Then you edit profile and a bloody video pops up everytime.  Ahhh....

What were you thinking in making this?  It's monstruous user experience. Once again: read and learn:
  1. Print screen/Hotkey does what you did the last time
  2. Right click Snagit and open a big, large, fat window with all the options as before (you could clean it up a bit there)
  3. Voilà.  Get rid of those profiles!  Quelle Horreur!

Appologize, recongnize your terrible mistake, roll back and keep your clients!  You'r on the verge of loosing everything you built in the last decade.

I'm reverting to Version 11.

Yeah, I don't know what TechSmith was thinking when they came out with the user operation of Snagit 12. Things that were so easy and convenient in Snagit 11 are destroyed in Snagit 12. I've already purchased another products (Ashampoo Snap) and am now using it for about 50% of my captures. Unfortunately Snap doesn't have the editor capabilites that Snagit has so I still have to use Snagit. But if Snap did have the editing capabilities of Snagit I would likely drop Snagit for 80% of my captures.
